Reflection on Robotics Unit

For our Robotics unit, my class built LEGO EV3 robots. We used the EV3 building set to build a car and used the EV3 programming system to help our car move. I really like robotics and LEGOs, so this was a great combination of the two, letting me have a blast. Since I really am good with LEGOS, I was able to build the car the fastest by myself. I really didn't like the programming aspect of this unit. It was very difficult to understand what moved what and what I change in order for the car to do something. What I learned about myself from this unit is that I have to have patience when it comes to the programming. I would become frustrated with myself when the programming didn't work for me, but when I relaxed and took my time, I was able to figure it out. I really wouldn't change anything for this unit because it really made me enjoy Robotics.
On our last day with the robots, our teacher gave us a sheet with codes that we had to program into our robots. We had to give the robot its input, which was what we programmed in EV3, and the output would be what the robot would do with the code. It was really fun and exciting watching out robotic cars do complex commands. Another example of robots using inputs and outputs, would be controlling a robot with a remote-control. The input would be what you controlled on the control and the output would be what the robot did with what you commanded.
